体は長く、尾ビレも長い。コメットの体色は、赤や更紗（赤と白）。朱文金の体色は黒、赤、浅葱などの多色。
Comet and Shubunkin
Both the Comet and Shubunkin are slender, fast-swimming varieties with a body shape similar to the wild carp. They are primarily distinguished by their tails and coloration.
Comet: This variety has a single, long, deeply-forked tail fin. It is usually found in solid red and Sarasa pattern (red and white).
Shubunkin: Characterized by its calico/nacreous scales (multicolored, dappled pattern), often featuring blue, black, and red spots. It also has a single tail, but it is typically not as deeply forked as the Comet's.
